Autism Charity Event: Mt. Juliet, TN

So I had the pleasure of getting asked to shoot this New Year's Eve Autism Charity event....It was a blast..aside from my sick wife not being able to attend and shoot with me.
There was plenty of food and prizes...and plenty of lost money...but it was to a good cause and raising awareness about Autism and helping to fund a local Autism organization!

The people were great...and no one minded losing the money...everyone bought in at a certain price and was given $30,000 dollars in chips and then at the end of the night who ever had won the most received the grand prize of a weekend getaway!

Needless to say I didn't win the grandprize...but my $30,000 turned into a little over $100,000 ... not too bad...considering it was all won on craps...and I had never played before!

You see, when you are always behind the camera, you tend to neglect having photos ever taken of yourself. This was their first time having photos done since their wedding 2 years ago. 

We were so excited to do this for them!

Textures

Something fun that we love to do in our processing is adding some textures to images that really stick out to us.

These two we just LOVE.

Textures can add so much to a photograph.

We really love adding dimension in our processing so this something we get excited about doing when we see a photo that we can play with in this way!

 

 

I love how Krista put her hand in Drew's back pocket! Too cute! Those are the little details about couples I love so much!

Speaking of Maternity, we had our first session of our Childbirthing Classes last night. It was really exciting actually. Im really looking foward to this whole process. I think it's absolutely incredible that God created us this way... designed our bodies to create another life. It's amazing.

New Year... New Beginnings

It's a year of New Beginnings for our sweet friends, Drew & Krista Bunch.

They will be welcoming a sweet baby girl, Evangeline Joy, into this world in Febuary.

Josh & Drew are very close friends. Drew was our Sunday School teacher until he felt the Lord call him to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX last year. We have missed them but were so excited when they were coming in town for Christmas & asked us about a Maternity Session. I will be updating this week with photos from their session.

Our New Years Day

Happy New Years

Everyone!

This is Josh!

We hope you had a safe & fun New Years!

I haven't been much of a blogger over here but that is going to change! So things can seem so hectic when your wife is pregnant, but we make the most of it!!!

We hang out as much as we can and enjoy the little things such as car washes, shopping or just eating in a food court watching the little kids on the carousel...pretty soon we will have a little one on the carousel...a little girl...Josie...I can't wait till we can have fun days with you!!!

In the dressing room at Old Navy that they let us share... which is too funny! Never had that happen before. We imagined it was b/c Amber is pregnant and might need help changing or something? Either way it was funny! A lil kiss shared at a red light... and wife doing her evening reading in A Baby Center's book and writing in her pregnancy documenting book, The Belly Book.

 

We are going to be getting a bit more personal over here... Just letting you guys into our lives a little more.

We feel that is a big part of what we do as photographers. Our clients let us into their lives for a few hours and we really want to do that for our readers too!

So, the blog will be undergoing some construction soon and revamping and we are excited about documenting our lives a bit more while sharing it with our readers!

Sweet Ada

I just can't get enough of this family... I hope you can't either.
The friendship that has spurred from this lil family session is so incredible.

Bringing a baby girl into this world is going to be incredible.
